At the Angela Green Esthetician Collective, we believe financial literacy is a form of self-care—and a necessary skill for any esthetician who wants to thrive, not just survive.
This May, let’s talk about money—not just how to make more of it, but how to manage it with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
Pay Yourself First!
Have you ever felt like you’re working non-stop, but not seeing the money reflect in your bank account? You’re not alone—and there’s a way to change that.
We explored the Pay Yourself First Budget in a previous post. Go check it out for the pros and cons of this budgeting method. This may be a budget you want to explore to keep yourself motivated!
Step-by-Step: Set Up a Simple Financial Flow
4 Categories:
Income (all revenue)
Owner's Pay (Your Take Home)
Profit (set aside a % immediately, no matter how small)
Expenses (rent, supplies, etc.)
Set Your Target Percentages:
Start small. For example:
Owner's Pay: 50%
Profit: 5%
Taxes: 15%
Operating Expenses: 30%
Do a Weekly Allocation:
Every week or two, track funds from your income account into the other accounts based on your percentages. This builds financial discipline and reduces money stress.
Why This Matters...
When you don’t know your numbers, it’s easy to feel stuck, underpaid, or even resentful of your business. But when you take control of your finances—even if it’s messy at first—you reclaim your power.
Financial confidence isn't about being perfect. It’s about being present.
May Challenge:
Use the Monthly Budget Planner to track your last 30 days of business income and expenses.
Ask:
What expenses are essential?
What could be trimmed?
Are you consistently paying yourself?
Here is a free downloadable Financial Confidence Worksheet to help you complete this challenge!
Money Affirmation of the Month:
"I manage my money with purpose. Every dollar I earn is a seed for the life and business I’m building."
Whether you’re solo or scaling, this is your reminder: you deserve to be paid well for the healing work you do. Financial literacy is not just strategy—it’s self-respect.
Let’s grow smarter together!
