October Blog: Your Esthetics Career is Allowed to Evolve
You Are More Than the Treatment Room!

There is no one specific way to be an Esthetician. Over the years, Estheticians have evolved from being generalists to becoming specialists. Your favorite Estheticians specialize in Chemical Peels or Brow Artistry. Many advance to become Educators and product formulators. Others travel abroad to enhance their skill set. Who knew Virtual Consultations and careers as a Creator would ever exist? The possibilities are endless!
Becoming an esthetician doesn’t mean your career has to remain behind the treatment table forever. I love it here...and it can also mean many other things over a long career.
Your esthetics license can be the foundation of your career
without defining the boundaries of it.
Experience Changes What Success Looks Like
Early in a career, success may look like a full book, more clients, a bigger suite, or consistently increasing income. Later in life, you may value flexibility, physical longevity, meaningful work, multiple income streams, and enough space for life outside work. Trust me, life will happen! The responsibilities of a growing family or even evolving personal interests can affect how you manage your skin care career.
Just because you built something successfully doesn’t mean
you’re required to keep building it the same way.
Evolution Doesn’t Mean Starting Over
I am currently pursuing nursing while continuing to operate Angela Green Skin Care, developing the Angela Green Esthetician Collective, teaching chemical peel education, and bringing decades of professional experience with me.
I am not returning to zero.
The relationships I have built with clients, a thriving community of Estheticians, my understanding of skin, entrepreneurship, communication, professionalism, teaching experience, and business knowledge I have accumulated all travel with me. The variation in my experiences overlaps and enhances my perspective. In sharing my experience here, my goal is to allow others to do the same.
Sometimes the next chapter of your career isn’t a pivot away
from everything you’ve built. It’s an expansion of it.

How have you reinvented your career as an Esthetician?
Did you leave another career to begin as an Esthetician?
Have you departed for another career and returned to your true calling?
Life may not always deliver us a straight path. Find the time to enjoy yourself along the way!
I would love to hear your perspective in the comments.
