The October Skin Edit: Is Your Skin Care Routine Working for You?
The products you already own may or may not be supporting your skin care goals. Let's talk about why!

1. The Popularity of Skin Care vs. the Personalization of Skin Care
So many skin care products are available these days. Trust me, as an esthetician, my social media feed is full of skin care content. Skin care brands have introduced many consumers to new ingredients and at-home treatments.
Those are positive developments. But the popularity of a product doesn't automatically make it appropriate for every skin type or condition.
There is a difference between following a trending product and developing one based on your individual skin concerns. The best skin care routine isn't necessarily the most popular one. It's the one that works for your skin.
2. You Already Have Skin Care Products. Do You Need More?
It is not my goal to have you throw away your existing products. I will often invite first-time clients to bring what they are currently using so I can evaluate during the initial consultation. I want to make sure the current skin care products are working with our skin care goals, not against them.

I will assess:
if the products support your skin goals.
if any active ingredients complement or conflict with professional treatments.
if the routine is unnecessarily complicated.
if the client is using products consistently and correctly. Daytime vs. Nighttime
I find that some clients may already have an excellent routine. Others may need only one or two adjustments. Sometimes better skin care starts with editing your routine, not replacing it.
3. Where does a.dot skin care Fit Into Your Treatment Plan?
I always introduce my clients to a.dot skin care products during the consultation. I also use the products in the first treatment - The Foundation Facial
My home care product recommendations are not being offered as an alternative to what is currently being used. It is actually a thoughtfully selected option within a personalized treatment plan we create together based on your skin analysis and skin goals.
As a client, you may love your current cleanser and sunscreen but need a more suitable toner or moisturizer. I designed the a.dot hydrating collection to complement an existing routine when its formulations are appropriate for that client's needs. Hydration is for everyone!
Ask yourself the following questions before buying another product:
What concern am I trying to address?
How does this product fit with what I'm already using?
Will it support the results of my professional treatments?
You may not need every product in the a.dot hydrating collection. You simply need the products that make sense for your skin.
